  Example: Tech Visit Itinerary

Getting Started...

Our popular Surviving Construction Tech Visit helps mobilize communities and organizations to plan and prepare. The tech visit is orchestrated to engage stakeholders and to focus local resources on solutions and tools to effectively address project-related issues and concerns. A written tech visit summary report containing an Action Agenda outline is provided in follow-up to guide the efforts of local project leaders and volunteers.

We use the two-day tech visit itinerary example appearing below as a starting point. We customize the itinerary for each visit in consultation with the client and a number of other factors such as: the status of the project's design and engineering phase; the anticipated ground-breaking date; the level of organization in the community; and the unique circumstances or special needs of the client.

 Example: Two-day Tech Visit Itinerary

 Day One

9 AM

Meet with client representatives to review schedule, objectives, etc.

10 AM

 Optional and Enhanced Services

Examples of optional and enhanced services that can be incorporated as part of an extended tech visit (typically three or four days) or in follow-up to our popular two-day tech visit include:

Business Assistance and Consultations

Training sessions and one-on-one business consultations are used to equip businesses with practical tools and strategies to survive — and even thrive — during construction.

Marketing and Branding Strategy

An interactive process is used to develop branding, marketing and promotional tools and strategies to create awareness and excitement, and to focus positive attention on the district before, during and after the construction project. Comprehensive branding system concepts are packaged in a Style Guide that includes tools, examples and resources readily adapted to district and project public relations, marketing and advertising campaign strategies and a variety of media applications.
